The CAT exam, as in previous years, will be divided into three sessions: morning, afternoon, and evening. While the papers change between sessions, the scores are adjusted to ensure fairness. There are 66 questions in all. 46 are multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with four possible answers, one of which is correct. Twenty are non-MCQ questions of the Type-In-The-Answer (TITA) variety.
A correct response earns three marks on MCQs, while an incorrect answer deducts one mark. However, TITA questions have no negative indications.
The QA and DI/LR sections each provide a simple on-screen calculator.
Any Bachelor’s degree holder (with at least 50% marks) and any candidate in their last year of graduation can take the CAT.
