VARC CAT 2024 Analysis of all the 3 slots
Verbal ability and Reading comprehension (VARC CAT) 2024 analysis : The difficulty level of the VARC section this year was easier compared to last year. Unlike last year, this year “Except questions” were less which lessened the difficulty level. Inference questions were still a part but they were manageable.
Lets look at the slot wise analysis of the VARC section:
With 16 RC questions and 8 Verbal Ability questions, the VARC portion was simpler than the CAT 2023 section. One notable modification was the removal of parajumbles. Hence, The VA section included Odd one out questions, summary questions and paragraph completion
Slot 1 for CAT 2024 (VARC)
Reading Comprehension (RC): four 400–450 word passages.
Subjects covered included: entertainment platforms, craftsmanship, and human economics.
Slot 2 VARC for CAT 2024
Four of the RCs in the CAT 2024 Slot 2 VARC portion were moderately difficult. Candidates had to pick the passage carefully.
Here are the topics covered : Spices Trade,Externalities,Peer Review,Carnivore – Human Conflict
Slot 3 VARC section CAT 2024
There were four moderately difficult RCs in it. It was necessary for candidates to carefully choose the passage based on their level of readiness.
The following subjects were a part :Japanese Language,Space, Artificial Intelligence ,Government policy around liquor
Additionally across all 3 slots:
The Verbal Ability (VA) component, which ranged from moderate to simple level, consists of three summary questions, two odd sentences (TITA), and three paragraph completion.
Overall: Answering 14–16 questions correctly with 70–80% would be the best effort, resulting in a 95+ percentile.
