How to approach critical reasoning in NMAT

How to approach Critical Reasoning in NMAT is very important for you.

It can be of great value for you when it comes to overall marking scheme. On an average 2 questions per following topic are asked:

1.Fact statement based

2.Verbal Reasoning

3.Statement/Assumption

4.Statement/ Conclusion

5.Statement /Inference

6.Course of Action

Important tip for NMAT critical reasoning:

Find out the precise questions each one poses. Don’t assume you know what they will ask you about an argument; it may be useful to read the question first, before reading the content it is based on. One question may ask you to identify any glaring problems in an argument. You might be guided by other questions to choose the one response option that DOES NOT highlight an issue with the argument.

The following advice will help you get ready for the NMAT exam’s critical thinking section:
Practice: Try to answer 20 to 30 questions each day while you practice. To increase your speed and accuracy, you might use sample papers, mock exams, and question papers from prior years.

Recognize the query: Read the question carefully and make sure you understand what it asks before responding.

Examine the question: Examine the demands of the question and avoid making assumptions about information that isn’t provided.

Examine the available answers: Before choosing the right response, carefully read each option.
Pay attention to your weak points: Determine your areas of weakness and try to strengthen them.

Employ a methodical approach: You can develop your talents and sharpen your analytical and reasoning abilities by following a methodical strategy.

Break down passages: If you’re having trouble understanding a passage, try breaking it down into parts.

Revise: Regularly revise concepts and important topics. Don’t forget to revise your weak areas more.

All the best for NMAT!
