The MAH MBA CET is Maharashtra’s most popular management entrance exam, with over 50,000 candidates taking it each year. In reality, many out-of-state candidates sit the MAH CET exam to gain admission to prestigious colleges like JBIMS, SIMSREE, Welingkar, and PUMBA. The official curriculum circular for this test was issued on the official website on January 1, 2024. According to the syllabus, the exam will be divided into four sections: logical reasoning, abstract reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and verbal ability and reading comprehension. There will be a total of 200 questions divided into four sections to be completed in 150 minutes. But what makes this test unique is the lack of negative marking or section time constraints. The reasoning component is assigned the most weightage, with a total of 100 marks, followed by verbal ability and quant, both worth 50 marks. With less than a minute each question, students must be incredibly rapid in reaching the correct conclusions while remaining accurate. Colleges like JBIMS and SIMSREE have cutoffs as high as 99.99% (150+ marks), leaving minimal space for error.

Logical and Abstract Reasoning

According to the official syllabus, the questions in this area are designed to assess the correctness of your analytical and critical thinking skills. Most questions will be centered on diagrams, graphs, and patterns, requiring you to discover patterns and linkages in order to draw data-driven conclusions. Often, some verbal reasoning questions are included in the mix.

Grammar, sentence corrections, vocabulary, word usage, and sentence completion questions will be used to measure your proficiency in the English language. In the reading comprehension section, your understanding of the passages and ability to extract ideas from the text will be crucial.

Overconfidence in their verbal ability can lead to confusion among the various closely related MCQ options for each question.
