What is SSC CGL?


SSC, commonly known as “Staff Selection Commission” is an organization under government of India that conducts various types of exams to recruit staff for different posts under the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices.

SSC conduct exams like CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD, CPO etc.

SSC CGL is the name of Exam that is conducted by Staff Selection Commission. It is the most popular competitive exam which every Government Job aspirants apply after completion of their graduation.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC CGL


1. Candidate should be an Indian Citizen.

2. Age limit is 18-32 years. Age limit relaxations are as per the government rules.

3. Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

 

Educational Qualification for different posts:-

Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) 

Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level (or)

 Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer (AAO)

 Chartered Accountant or Cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.

Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University

Statistical Investigator Grade-II

Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute. The candidates must have studied Statistics as a subject in all the three years of the graduation course.

Other Post

Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent

 

 

Physical Fitness Standards:-

For the post of Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/ Preventive Officer), Inspector & Sub-Inspector in CBN:

Cycling - 8 kms.  In 30 minutes.

Height:  152 cms.

Weight:  48 kgs.

Height relaxable by 2.5 cms. 

Weight relaxable by 2 Kg. for Gorkhas, Garwalis, Assamese, and members of Scheduled Tribes.

 

Walking - 1 km. in 20 minutes.

Cycling - 3 kms. in 25 minutes

 

 

 

For the Post of Sub-Inspector in National Investigation Agency:

Tier 4

Tier-IV examination comprises of a couple of skill sets required for certain Government Posts all over the country. SSC CGL Tier-4 is also known as the Data Entry Skill Test that is used for assessing the typing speed of the candidate who qualify in Stage- 1, 2, and 3.

 


SSC CGL Exam Important Points


  • Tier-I exam is compulsory for all posts mentioned in the SSC CGL 2022 Notification.
  • Candidates will have to prepare for both Tier 2 and Tier 3 exam simultaneously.
  •  The evaluation of Tier 3 Descriptive exam will be done only if a candidate clears the combined cut off for Tier 1 and Tier 2.
  • In Tier-II, Paper-I and Paper-II are compulsory for all the posts.
  • Candidates who have qualified for the SSC CGL cutoff of Tier 1, 2, and 3 are only shortlisted to apply for Tier 4.
  • Candidates must note that Tier 4 is only qualifying in nature. Therefore, no marks will be awarded in this tier.
