The candidate can apply for the 291 vacancies offered by RBI Grade B Notification 2023 on the official website @rbi.org.in and the last date for online registration is 9th June 2023. The selection for RBI Grade B Officers is done through a country-wide competitive Examination in three phases i.e. Preliminary and Main examination followed by an Interview. RBI Grade B 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should be able to fulfill the mentioned requirements to be able to apply online for RBI Grade B Exam. It is important that the candidates check out the detailed eligibility criteria before filling out the application form.

Nationality

The candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who is permanently settled in India before January 1, 1962, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from either Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam intending to reside permanently in India.

RBI Grade B Age Limit

The RBI Grade B Minimum and Maximum age limit are as shown below along with the age relaxation for the reserved category candidates.

RBI Grade B Educational Qualifications

Given below are the educational qualification requirements to join RBI as a Grade B officer as per the vacancies in RBI Grade B Recruitment 2023.

(a) Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR)–(General): Minimum 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PwBD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th Standard examinations. The minimum qualifying percentage or an equivalent grade for the Bachelor’s degree will be in aggregate for all semesters/years

(b) Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR)–DEPR: A Master’s Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute; OR PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute; OR Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute.

(c) Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR)–DSIM: Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade (aggregate of all semesters/years) OR Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from a reputed Institute OR M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks (aggregate of all semesters/years) OR Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.

RBI Grade B Exam Number of attempts

The RBI has specified the number of attempts for each category. Check the number of attempts category-wise below.

General Candidates: 6 Attempts,

SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD Candidates: No bar on the number of attempts.

RBI Grade B Exam Pattern

RBI Grade B 2023 Exam will be conducted in three phases:

Phase-I or Prelims;

Phase-II or Mains

Interview

Candidates are required to clear all three phases to get a confirmed post as a Grade B Officer in the Reserve Bank of India. The Final merit list will be based on candidates’ performance in the main exam and interview round.

RBI Grade B Exam Pattern For Prelims Exam

The RBI Grade B Prelims exam will be 200 marks with a total time duration of 120 minutes.

There will be a specific sectional duration which will be mentioned in the admission letter.

There will mainly be four sections.

RBI Grade B Exam Pattern For Mains Exam

The candidates who qualify for the Prelims will be eligible to appear for the mains exam or Phase 2.

There are three separate papers in the main exam.

For RBI Grade B Officers in Gr B (DR)- General, candidates have to appear for papers I, II, and III.

For RBI Grade B Officers in Gr B (DR)- DEPR & DSIM, candidates have to appear for Paper-II and III.

Paper I & III are 50% Objective & 50 % descriptive while Paper- II is Descriptive only.

Each paper will be 100 marks.

The English paper is a descriptive test.

RBI Grade B Officer Interview

 Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on aggregate marks obtained in Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III of the Phase II exam. The interview process will carry 75 marks.

RBI Grade B Syllabus

As you know that there will be three phases for the selection of RBI Grade B Officers. The first two are the written tests and the third is the Interviews.

1 The RBI Grade B phase-1 exam is an objective type examination conducted online. It will have 4 sections: General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning

2 The RBI Grade B Phase 2 Exam is both objective & descriptive type. This phase will focus on Economic & Social Issues, English Language, and Finance & Management

RBI Grade B Salary Structure

The RBI GradeB starting basic pay scale is Rs. 55,200. The pay scale for RBI Grade B Officer is Rs. 55,200-2850(9)-80850-EB-2850(2)-86550-3300(4)-99750(16 years). The RBI Grade B Salary Structure has been tabulated below to give a clear vision about your doubts about RBI Grade B Salary.

RBI Grade B Salary- Deductions

An employee gets net pay after a deduction of a fixed amount from their gross salary. From the gross RBI Grade B Salary Rs. 1,08,404, the deduction of Rs. 26,436 amount is done for which the complete details have been mentioned in the below table. 

RBI Grade B Salary Increment

The first increment of RBI Grade B Officer is done after 5 years of their service period. 

1.    Receive an increment of - Rs. 1750 (up to 9 years )

2.    After 9 years is over, your basic pay is: Receive an increment of - Rs. 50,900: Rs. 1750 (for the next 2 years)

3.    Further increment of - Rs. 2000 ( for the next 4 years) / then basic pay is = Rs. 54400

4.    After 16 years, the maximum basic pay will be Rs. 62400.

This amount will be received even without any single promotion after that certain period of time.

RBI Grade B Salary Perks & Allowances

Besides the basic pay, RBI Grade B Officers are offered several other perks & allowances. These additional benefits motivate the employees to work and keep the working environment healthy. 

i) Dearness Allowance: 31% of the basic pay as per 7th pay commission 

ii) Local allowance

iii) House Rent Allowance: RBI offers them an amount of 70,000 for settlement in metro cities like Mumbai. Usually one gets a 2/3 BHK flat. for those employees who had not got any flat.

vii) Medical Allowances: RBI employees get a medical allowance worth Rs. 4500 and other facilities too.

viii) Conveyance Allowance(C.A): Basically, it is paid on the basis of your declaration. For instance, the aspirants, who will be posted to Mumbai, will get an additional Rs. 14000 in hand.

ix) Education Allowance: Get education allowance for their children/The annual reimbursement amount for approximately INR 4000 per month

RBI Grade B 2023 Result

RBI Grade B Result for the Prelims Exam will be released by the Reserve Bank of India soon after the Prelims Exam has been conducted. The marks secured by the candidates in the RBI Grade B Exam in Prelims, Main Exam, and Interview will be available on the Bank’s website only after the declaration of the final result.  The merit list is prepared in descending order of the marks obtained by candidates after the interview process is complete.
