CDS 1 2023 Notification: UPSC has released the Official Notification for CDS 1 2023 Examination on 21st December 2022. UPSC conducts the CDS Exam twice a year. CDS exam is very important for candidates who want to be admitted to the Indian Armed Forces. Recruitment of officials in Indian forces by the United Defence Service or CDS. A Combined Defense Service Examination is organized by UPSC for recruitment in the Indian Army, Air Force and Water Force.

UPSC organizes written examinations and interviews for CDS recruitment after which the successful candidates are sent to the Indian Military Academy (Dehradun), Indian NavalAcademy (Goa), AirForce Academy (Hyderabad) and Officer Training Academy (Chennai). The work of UPSC is to organize the examination and recruit candidates for the academies.

The examination of the CDS is the examination for recruitment in one of the three Indian Armed Forces. Although there is a different eligibility criterion for recruitment in the three Indian Academies and the candidate which completes all CDS eligibility criteria, the same candidate is considered to be eligible for CDS exam.

CDS 1 2023 Notification: Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for cds 2023 notification, a candidate must be unmarried and must either be:

A Citizen of India, or

A Subject of Bhutan, or

A Subject of Nepal, or

A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

CDS Exam 2023 Selection Procedure

The Combined Defense Services Examination is conducted in two phases- the first stage is the written examination and the second is the interview. This examination comes under UPSC and the examination of all the three forces is under this. If the candidate is successful in the written test then he/she is called for SSB interview. The written examination consists of the below subjects:

A)   For Admission to Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy:

CDS 1 2023 SSB Interview involves 2 stages:

Stage 1 consists of officer intelligence rating, picture perception, and description test.

Stage 2 involves psychology test, interview, group testing officer task, and conference.

CDS Exam Syllabus 2023.

CDS English Syllabus

The level of English papers will be such as to test the knowledge of English language and comprehension of words in English language of the candidates. The syllabus covers various aspects like: Grammar and usage, vocabulary, comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test the candidate’s proficiency in English. Under this Parts of Speech, Tense, Articles, Identifying Wrong or Famous Idioms and proverbs of English can be asked from the candidates.

CDS General Knowledge Syllabus.

Under General Knowledge, candidates can be asked questions from current affairs like sportspersons, awards, important people, economy, conferences etc. Apart from this, questions will also be asked from history, geography etc. of India.
